On This Day Four Years Ago - U2 Plays The Joshua Tree From Start To Finish

Pittsburgh, PA, June 7, 2017 - It was my first of 10 Joshua Tree Tour shows. Hearing U2 play the Joshua Tree from start to finish was, needless to say, a moving experience. The other word that I would use to describe it was "surreal." Like most hardcore U2 fans, The Joshua Tree is far greater than just another album. I was 9 years old when it came out and it was obvious that this record was special. At this point, I can't really remember what life is like without this collection of songs. Calling it "the soundtrack to my life" feels like it doesn't go far enough. These songs have shaped me morally, ethically, and introduced new ideas that may never have been discovered. Hearing them played live in succession was something that I'll take to my grave. That night in Pittsburgh was special. Check out my entire gallery of photos from that night here.
